Creative Tools
- Record vocals, acoustic instruments and line-level equipment through the two microphone/line inputs, with +48 V phantom power available for condenser microphones.
- Use the included Unison-compatible preamps and channel strips to shape input impedance, gain behaviour and tonal character during recording.
- Connect a guitar or bass directly to the front-panel Hi-Z input and create recording tones with included amplifier and pedal emulations.
- Build real-time recording and monitoring chains using four onboard DSP cores, allowing performers to hear compatible UAD processing while recording. Available processing capacity depends on the selected plug-ins and sample rate.
- Develop vocal chains with the Pro bundle’s preamps, compressors and reverbs, choosing combinations that suit intimate performances, energetic lead vocals or layered backing parts.
- Add tape character with Studer A800 or Ampex ATR-102, shape instruments with Pultec equalisation, and create depth with room, plate and digital reverbs.
- Use Auto-Gain and Plug-In Scenes in UAD Console to establish recording levels and recall processing configurations for different performers or sessions.
- Expand the input count through a compatible optical ADAT preamp or S/PDIF source when additional microphones or instruments are required.
- Compare mixes through alternate speakers and communicate with performers using the built-in talkback microphone.
- Refine monitor or headphone playback with Apollo Monitor Correction when paired with the required Sonarworks SoundID Reference software and compatible calibration equipment.
- Combine onboard UAD processing with native software running on the computer to balance real-time tracking and larger mixing sessions.
